NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #2

FOR FUNDING UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE PROGRAM


Shelby County intends to apply to the Ohio Department of Development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Community Development Critical Infrastructure Program, a federally funded program administered by the State. The County is eligible for fiscal year 2025 CDBG funding, provided that the County meets applicable program requirements.


On Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, the County conducted its first public hearing to inform citizens about the CDBG Program, how it may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements.


Based on both citizen and local officials’ assessment of the County’s needs, the County proposes to review the following CDBG activities for project year 2025:


Project:  Village of Anna, Critical Infrastructure Project

CDBG Amount:  $470,000.00

Total Project Cost:  $916,509.00


National Objectivity Being Met – LMI Area-wide benefit;


The application is due to Ohio Department of Development by June 12, 2025.


A second public hearing will be held May 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelby County Commissioners’ Office to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed CDBG application, including the proposed activities as summarized above, before the County submits the application to the Ohio Department of Development.

Bids for the Leininger Lane project will be received by the Village of Jackson Center at the Council Chambers, 122 E. Pike Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334, until Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.

The Project includes the following Work: The construction of Leininger Lane, including new drives and parking lots, located between Davis Street and E. Pike Street in Jackson Center, Ohio. Site work to include site grading and pavement work. No utilities are included in this project.

All official notifications, addenda, and other Bidding Documents will be offered through the designated website. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office of Choice One.

The Village is once again looking for dedicated Manager / Assistant Manager / Co-Assistant Managers to oversee the day-to-day operations for the 2025 Swimming Pool Season.  Employment runs Mid-May to Mid-August.  This position is ideal for College Students, Teachers, Stay at Home Parents or Retired persons looking for a part-time opportunity!


We also need and have Lifeguard & Slide Attendant positions available.  Age requirement:  Lifeguard 15 and up - Slide Attendant 14 and up.  The Village will pay 100% of the cost of the Lifeguard Training and Certification.
