JACKSON CENTER EDUCATION

Jackson Center Local School District is located in northeast Shelby County. The district has one large building complex which houses 550 students on average in grades preK-12. The school also hosts a pre-school for 3-4 year old's.



The Jackson Center School District has a low teacher to pupil ratio, which provides for excellent personal relationships between teachers, students and parents. The curricular and extracurricular programs are designed to meet the present and future needs of students and prepare them for our constantly changing society.



Pre-K thru 12

Jackson Center Schools is a 5 Star school district located in northeast Shelby County. One building houses 550 Pre-K thru 12 students on average with approximately 42 certified staff members. The district provides an innovative curriculum and schedule for elementary and middle school children that is designed to fit their individual needs. Teachers specialize in their subjects starting at the kindergarten level so even 5 and 6 yr. old’s change classes during the day. At the high school level, Jackson Center offers a variety of high-quality educational experiences as well as a number of College Credit Plus classes both on and off campus.   In conjunction with the Upper Valley Career Center (UVCC), we offer comprehensive Vocational Consumer Sciences and Vocational Agriculture programs. Students may tailor their high school schedules to meet their individual needs and goals.

 

In addition, our teachers and support staff do all that is possible to provide an environment conducive to student participation and achievement. Our beautiful facilities have helped Jackson Center students excel in the arts, athletics and vocational contests even at the national level.  Students from Jackson Center continue to distinguish themselves with their hard work and achievements while in school and beyond. Vocational/Technical education

Opportunity Awaits. Upper Valley Career Center (UVCC) affords high school students the opportunity to begin their career pathway, earn college credits and begin work in their field, all while remaining active in sports and other activities at their associate school. UVCC has been the area's leader in STEM - Career and Technical Education for high school and adult students since 1975. The proof is in their numbers! UVCC serves over 1100 students at the main campus and another 3300 in satellite programs housed in many of the 14 associate school districts, including Jackson Center Local Schools. UVCC offers more than 25 career/technical programs that has led to a 97.7% 4-Year graduation rate, 51.1% of students advancing to college, 90.5% technical skill attainment, and $3.1 million cumulative salaries earned through apprenticeships.


Never Stop Learning. The Adult Division serves over 3000 adults. Full-time certificate programs offered through Adult Education are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges. These programs, combined with Aspire and customized, short-term training help prepare students for employment or continued education. Adult learners gain skills, earn industry credentials, and prepare for licensure exams.
