NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING #2

FOR FUNDING UNDER THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ALLOCATION PROGRAM


Shelby County intends to apply to the Ohio Department of Development for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Community Development Allocation Program and Critical Infrastructure Grant program, federally funded programs administered by the State. The County is eligible for fiscal year 2026 CDBG funding, provided that the County meets applicable program requirements.


On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the County conducted its first public hearing to inform citizens about the CDBG Program, how it may be used, what activities are eligible, and other important program requirements.


Based on both citizen and local officials’ assessment of the County’s needs, the County proposes to review the following CDBG activities for project year 2026: (See Table Below)


Objectivity Being Met – Benefiting the needs of low- to moderate-income persons; limited clientele; and/or preventing slum or blight.


The application is due to ODOD by June 10, 2026.


A second public hearing will be held May 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shelby County Commissioners’ Office to give citizens an adequate opportunity to review and comment on the proposed CDBG application, including the proposed activities as summarized above, before the County submits the application to the Ohio Department of Development.
