TRASH COLLECTION

JACKSON CENTER TRASH COLLECTION

CHANGES TO TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION FOR JACKSON CENTER EFFECTIVE MARCH 30TH

Republic Waste is trying to keep their employees healthy and have asked us to help them out. All Trash that you put in your Trash tote must be bagged. They are no longer picking up extra bags that are set outside of the tote or large items. The goal is to make sure that Republic Waste employees do not have to touch bags or trash that is not in bags. The employee will attached the tote to the truck and dump the tote and put the tote back at the curb. Therefore, if your trash is outside of the tote or not bagged and falls out on the ground, they will not pick it up. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR TRASH IS BAGGED INSIDE YOUR TOTE.

They are also asking that you not bag your recyclables. Make sure that bottles, cans, plastic containers are rinsed and dry before putting them in the recycling tote. Bags can accumulate residual liquids that can carry viruses and bacteria. Please see the graphic below for more tips regarding trash and recycling disposal. Thank you for your cooperation!

Trash Collection - This will remain unchanged altough we ask that all material is bagged and that you refrain from any project cleanups until things return to normal.

Recycling Collection - This remains unchanged for now although it is important that you follow the directions on your cart lid.  All boxes are to be cut into pieces and placed "inside" the cart or it will be left by the driver.

Yard Waste - Our community has a "yard waste" drop off, you will still be able to take your material there.

Bulk Items - We will not be collecting any Bulk Items. Please retain any tags that have been purchased until further notice. This also pertains to residents with the trash totes, no bulk items set out at this time. With so many people at home now, they are inclined to clean out garages, attics and basements. The additional material generated by these activities compounds existing conditions and we ask that you refrain from placing this material at the curb as we cannot pick it up at this time. Bulk item tags do not have an expiration date and can be used in the future.

Reducing the number of "touches" each driver has per day to reduce their risk of contracting COVID-19.

We appreciate your helping us to keep them safe.

Normal services will resume upon the rescinding of the Governors order.
