Jackson Center Selling Surplus Equipment on Internet

The Village of Jackson Center has selected GovDeals, a unique, state-of-the-art, online auction service for Local, State and Federal government agencies to conduct online sales of their surplus equipment and assets.  Jackson Center joins the over 600+ governments across the country who have adopted GovDeals patented online auction solution that delivers prescreened and qualified buyers and which translates into higher prices for auctioned equipment and assets. 

A recent study by the State of Tennessee showed that equipment and assets brought 47% more sold through GovDeals than via prior live public auctions.  Items for sale will be posted on the web and can be accessed through the village website at or directly through

Bidders can register free of charge at the GovDeals website. Citizens will be offered the opportunity to purchase surplus property year-round as it is declared surplus equipment.  Registration is required for bidding. All items are sold “as is,” and the acceptable methods of payment are cash, money order, and cashier’s check. Please review the terms and conditions before bidding.

Public Notice

In accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 721.15, the Village of Jackson Center passed Resolution No. 2015-001 expressing its intent to sell personal property, fleet and equipment assets including motor vehicles that are not needed for municipal purposes and/or are obsolete or unfit for the use for which it was acquired, by internet auction. Pursuant to the terms of that Resolution, internet auctions will be conducted according to the rules and regulations of GovDeals.

The auctions shall be conducted on a continuous basis through accessing the Village of Jackson Center web site located at and double clicking on the GovDeals icon. 

The surplus items shall be posted for no less than ten (10) calendar days, including Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays.  The Village will also post a notice of such Internet auction on the bulletin board in the Village Office on a continuous basis.  A notice will appear continuously on the Village of Jackson Center's web site that surplus property is available through Internet auction. 

All property is offered for sale “As Is, Where Is”. The Village of Jackson Center makes no warranty, guaranty or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. The Buyer is not entitled to any payment for loss of profit or any other money damages – special, direct, indirect or consequential, and the Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to withdraw from sale of any of the items listed.  Bidders may inspect the property prior to bidding.
