RESCUE SQUAD

JACKSON CENTER RESCUE SQUAD

The Village of Jackson Center and Jackson Township have agreed to enter into a five (5) year contract with Anna Rescue. The contract will be evaluated by both parties at the end of each year. Anna Rescue has provided excellent service to our area throughout the past couple of years, with their average call time to respond being just under seven (7) minutes.

The contract will allow for Anna Rescue to acquire the 2004 Ford E-450 Horton Squad and any remaining emergency medical equipment that the Jackson Center Squad gave to the Township. Upon JC Squad's dissolution, the Township also received $20,000 for rescue services from the JC Squad, of which $16,000 is remaining. Four Thousand dollars was used to pay Anna Rescue for the services the Township received while the contract was being negotiated. These funds and rescue equipment will be dispersed to Anna Rescue in return for services rendered to the Village and Township from now through December, 2015. In order to maintain services, a levy will need to be placed on the ballot in the fall.

As outlined in the contract, Anna Rescue will place a squad in our rescue building so that local volunteers can run once more. Two former Jackson Center Squad members, Michelle Ricker and Sandy Shuff, have already been serving with Anna Rescue and are excited to be able to make runs again within their home community. Anna Rescue encourages any other local residents who are interested in volunteering to contact Matt Harvey, Chief Training Officer and Paramedic with Anna Rescue at 937-394-7377.
