Veterans Memorial Park

Located on the corner of Fairview & College St., the Jackson Center Veterans Memorial Park is dedicated to all those who served our nation and made the ultimate sacrifice. It is open year round, and features night lighting. There is a memorial service held at Veterans Park every Memorial Day.  The park features a monumental stone dedicated in 1994 to the Men and Women who have honorably served our Country.  The park also features a paver brick walk with the names of residents, groups and businesses of Jackson Center.

The Village of Jackson Center is proud to offer an 8 acre municipal park to its residents which is located on the east side of the Village at the corner of State Route 274 (Pike Street) and Parkview Drive.  The park features a newly renovated municipal pool with a spray park, zero entry and slide, covered shelter houses (with electric service), restrooms, picnic areas, two lighted tennis, four lighted pickleball courts two basketball courts and playground equipment.

The park features two shelter houses that are available on a first-come basis or can be reserved through the village office by calling (937) 596-6314. Electric service is available in each of the shelter houses.

  • Shelter House #1 has six 10' picnic tables and can accommodate 60 people.
  • Shelter House #2 has four 10' picnic tables and two 6' picnic tables and can accommodate 52 people.

While at the park your children can enjoy the playground equipment, swings, basketball courts, pickleball and tennis courts.   All courts are available on a first come, first serve basis.

If you enjoy walking, this park features a paved walking track that begins at the restroom/storage building and extends around the playground equipment to the north all the way back around to the restroom/storage building (measuring approximately .20 of a mile).  You can also take a walk in the woods on the north side of the park.  There is a cleared, rugged walking trail that leads back to a pond on the north side of the park property.

This park also features new Tee-Ball fields on the North end of the park.  The fields were recently installed and boast red infield dirt and bleachers for spectators.

There is a small parking area that you can enter from East College Street or from the Swimming Pool Drive.  There is also parking available on Parkview Drive along the west side of the street.

The Village with the aid of grant and zero interest loan monies has been able to develop 33 acres of ground where our well field is located on the Southwest side of the Village behind Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church just off of State Route 65 (Main Street).  This facility features youth soccer fields for all of the teams that are organized under the Jackson Center Youth Sports Organization.  Parking for soccer events is just to the South of the soccer fields.  The park also boasts a paved walking track that is approximately .66 miles around the soccer fields.  The fields and grounds are maintained by the Village of Jackson Center Parks Department.  Many of our residents enjoy staying fit on the walking track whether they are walking, running, bicycling or just enjoying a ride in their golf cart.  In the fall, the park is full of activity as the Jackson Center Youth Sports Organization ramps up the Soccer season with practices starting in August.

This is a quiet park that has residential properties to the North, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church to the East and wooded areas to the South and West.  The Village hopes to expand this park in the future with two baseball and softball diamonds along with additional parking for those facilities.  Plans also include extending the walking track around the baseball and softball diamonds as well as adding playground equipment.
