JACKSON CENTER INCOME TAX

The Village of Jackson Center has a 1.50% income tax. What is this tax used for; the first 1.25% of the revenue from this tax is used for the purpose of general municipal operations, constructions, maintenance of new equipment, extension and enlargement of municipal services and facilities and capital improvements. The last .25% of the revenue from this tax is used for the purpose of construction, repair and improvements to the wastewater treatment facilities and water treatment facilities. Taxes are due on or before April 15th of each year. The Village of Jackson Center is a mandatory filing community. This means that even if you did not have income for the year, or; if at any point in time during the year, lived in Jackson Center or worked in Jackson Center; you are required to file an Income Tax Return for Village Income Tax.


If you have just moved to Jackson Center, we request that you complete the "Individual Registration Form". This form gives R.I.T.A. all of the information they need to know to get you set up. You will need to let your employer know that they will need to withhold the Jackson Center Municipal Income Tax from your wages if they are not already.


If you are a company doing business or performing a service in Jackson Center, we request that you complete the "Business Registration Form". This form gives R.I.T.A. all of the information they need to get your business set up and also lets them know any subcontractors that work for you as well.


All Village of Jackson Center tax payments and tax forms, for current or prior tax years are to be sent to R.I.T.A. Tax filings and payments can be completed online at www.ritaohio.com or by mail. We encourage you to utilize R.I.T.A.’s electronic filing and payment system. This free service is fast, simple, and secure. Checks or money orders should be payable to the Regional Income Tax Agency or R.I.T.A. Please include your Social Security Number or Federal Identification Number on all payments and correspondence.

RETIRED CITIZENS

If you are retired and are only receiving pension, social security, interest, dividends or other non-taxable income for all of 2015, you are still required to file. Jackson Center is a mandatory filing community. Please click on the blue Exemption Form below and complete the form and mail it to RITA at the address on the form.


  • Fill in the top portion of the form completely.
  • Circle item number four (4) and enter the date that you retired.
